Somersworth Parks and Recreation Department offers a diversity of programs for all ages to meet the needs of residents and non-residents. The Recreation Department encourages wholesome and healthful use of leisure and recreation for the citizens of Somersworth. We hope you will discover and participate in many of the programs, events and trips that we offer.

Attention: All Dog Owners

Please be aware that the City of Somersworth has a leash law that prohibits dogs from running at large. It is also required that all owners be prepared and clean up their dog’s excrement expeditiously in any public place or upon the property of any other person. 


-Recreation Program Payment Information-

All programs require a registration form to be filled out prior to participating. Payments are due at the time of registration. Please contact us if you have questions about the payment or if you are mailing a payment to ensure space is available for your child. 603-692-9508

-2018 Granite State Track & Field Program-

  • Children ages 9-14 (As of December 31st 2018)
  • Practices are held at Idlehurst School Track
  • Mondays & Wednesdays; 3:30-4:30 p.m.
  • May 9- June 22 (No practice Monday, May 28th)
  • Regional Meet- June 16th Spaulding High School Rochester, NH (All day event)
  • State Meet- June 22 Location TBD (4:00- typically lasts a few hours)
  • Registration Fee-
    • Early Bird Fee (Register by March 30th) $20 residents
    • Fee (after March 30th- deadline to register is April 20th) $35 residents

Early Bird Registration opens March 15 for residents / April 15 non-residents (Early Bird fee runs until May 1st. Deadline to register for the programs is June 1st.)

Volunteer Opportunities!

Community members and friends we need your help! We have special events coming up that takes the help from several volunteers to facilitate. Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community, build relationships, earn volunteer hours, and so much more. We have many different volunteer tasks so please reach out to see if there’s something you can help with. If you have any special skills please reach out as we’re always looking for new and creative ways to improve our special events. This is also a great way for high school students to receive volunteer hours.

ATTENTION: The Splash Pad is now closed at Noble Pines Park! 

Come beat the summer heat with Somersworth’s very own Splash Pad! The Splash pad will be open daily starting mid-June through Labor Day from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, weather permitting. 




Please be sure to check out the splash pad rules prior to visiting:  

  • Splash Pad park hours are 10 am.- 7 pm. daily. The Splash Pad may be closed at anytime due to maintenance or other concerns.
  • Footwear/sandals are strongly recommended. NO athletic cleats on the Splash Pad.
  • NO food or beverages, glass containers, or breakable objects are allowed on the Splash pad.
  • NO skateboards, roller blades, bicycles, scooters, or any other type of wheeled vehicle (with the exception of wheelchairs or assistive devices) are allowed on the Splash Pad.
  • NO pets are allowed on the Splash Pad.
  • In the event of an emergency, call 911. The Splash Pad is located at 45 Grand Street.


 Looking for a private park rental for a function or party?!

Millenium Park is available for private one-day or two-day rentals on weekends from April to October. The park offers a softball field with lights, 2 horseshoe pits, 2 volleyball courts, electricity, bathroom facilities, 2 barbecue grills, a covered pavilion with 8 picnic tables, a small playground structure with a swing set, and a large parking lot.
