Somersworth Parks and Recreation Department offers a diversity of programs for all ages to meet the needs of residents and non-residents. The Recreation Department encourages wholesome and healthful use of leisure and recreation for the citizens of Somersworth. We hope you will discover and participate in many of the programs, events and trips that we offer.

Please be aware that the City of Somersworth has a leash law that prohibits dogs from running at large. It is also required that all owners be prepared and clean up their dog’s excrement expeditiously in any public place or upon the property of any other person.

Biddy Bball pic1Who: Children ages 3-6                                   When: Saturday’s; January 30-March 5          Where: Idlehurst Gym & Flanagan Center Gym   Time: 3/4 year olds: 8:00-8:50 a.m.                            5/6 year olds: 9:00-9:50 a.m.              Early Bird Fee (Register by Dec. 4th) $45 residents/ $55 non-residents                       Fee (After Dec. 4th) $60 residents/ $70 non-residents                                     **Registration deadline is Friday, January 8th
Youth Travel Basketball-    This program is for children in grades 3-6 who are currently enrolled in our Saturday morning Recreation program. Tryouts will be held as necessary. Please click the link below to access our parent letter to learn more about this program.  Below are the key dates for opening week of travel basketball. All practices and home games will be played at Idlehurst Elementary unless otherwise noted. A schedule will be provided once teams have been selected.

Idlehurst Elementary Cafe
 Daughters in grades K-8 and their dads (or uncles, brothers, grandfathers, etc.) can dance the night away to the latest tunes, take part in dance contests, games, raffles, Valentine’s desserts, and more! Families are asked to donate finger goodies- (desserts, finger sandwiches, etc.)
Tickets are now on sale in the Rec. Dept. located at City Hall. Please call for more information- 603-692-9508
Cost: $25 per couple in advance (register by Feb. 9th) OR            $30 at the door per couple

A fun-filled evening hosted by SYC, Title 1, and PTA. Games, activities, and challenges for the whole family. Somersworth Recreation and Spring ROSO soccer will be available for questions and information! All children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information call the SYC office at 692-2126.

Check out the new Splash Pad located at Noble Pines Park!

Come beat the summer heat with Somersworth’s new and highly anticipated Splash Pad. The Splash pad will be open daily starting Mid-June through Labor Day from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, weather permitting.

 Looking for a private park rental for a function or party?!

Millennium Park is available for private one-day or two-day rentals on weekends from April to October. The park offers a softball field with lights, 12 horseshoe pits, 2 volleyball courts, electricity, bathroom facilities, 3 barbecue grills, a covered pavilion with 8 picnic tables, a small play structure and large parking lot. City Hall Office hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Registrations for all programs, events, and trips can be made in person at the Recreation Office located in City Hall. All registrations must include payment- please call before mailing a payment to ensure space is available. If we are not available in the office there is a drop box located across the hall for your convenience.
