Somersworth Parks and Recreation Department offers a diversity of programs for all ages to meet the needs of residents and non-residents. The Recreation Department encourages wholesome and healthful use of leisure and recreation for the citizens of Somersworth. Attention: All Dog Owners

Please be aware that the City of Somersworth has a leash law that prohibits dogs from running at large. It is also required that all owners be prepared and clean up their dog’s excrement expeditiously in any public place or upon the property of any other person. 


ATTENTION: Mast Point Dam Recreation Area will be closed to the public Wednesday, June 20th at 3:00 p.m. and the park will reopen to the public on Thursday, June 21st at 4:00 p.m. The park will be closed for an emergency response training exercise. A notice will be posted at the park as well. We apologize for any inconvenience.

-2018 Pee Wee Soccer Program-

**Early Bird Registration opens June 18th! 

  • Children ages 3 & 4
  • Saturday mornings at Noble Pines Park
  • 9:00-9:45 a.m.
  • September 15 – October 27 (No Soccer 10/6)
  • Parent participation is required


  • Early Bird Fee- (Register and pay by July 20th): $45 residents / $55 non-residents
  • Fee- (After July 20th/ Deadline to register is August 24th): $60 residents / $70 non-residents

Join us for this exciting 6-week program that is designed to teach young players the basic soccer skills through fun games and friendly scrimmages. Parent participation is required for this age group. Now seeking parent volunteer coaches. Please reach out if you can help, we rely on volunteers for the success of this program! -2018/19 Rec Youth Basketball-

  • Children in grades 1-6
  • Saturday mornings only
  • November 10-January 12 (No Basketball 11/24 or 12/22) **Please note we’re still working on finalizing dates for this program. All dates/times are subject to change based on gym availability.

Idlehurst Elementary School Gym:

  • 1st & 2nd Grade Coed: 8:00-8:50 a.m.
  • 3rd & 4th Grade Girls: 9:00-10:20 a.m.
  • 5th & 6th Grade Girls: 10:30-11:50 a.m.

Middle School Gym:

  • 3rd & 4th Grade Boys: 8:30-9:50 a.m.
  • 5th & 6th Grade Boys: 10:00-11:20 a.m.

Join us for this  8-week instructional Rec Basketball program designed to teach players the fundamentals of basketball. This program emphasizes skill development and sportsmanship through age appropriate drills and fun games. All playing abilities are welcome!

**Now seeking volunteer coaches to run the program! We can’t run this program without the help without the help of several volunteers. Please reach out to the Rec Office if you can coach this season. 603-692-9508

Volunteer Opportunities!

Community members and friends we need your help! We have special events coming up that takes the help from several volunteers to facilitate. Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community, build relationships, earn volunteer hours, and so much more. We have many different volunteer tasks so please reach out to see if there’s something you can help with. If you have any special skills please reach out as we’re always looking for new and creative ways to improve our special events. This is also a great way for high school students to receive volunteer hours.

2018-19 Recreation Volunteer Opportunities

We are also seeking volunteer to coaches to help us run our athletic programs. If we don’t get enough volunteers a program may be in danger of cancellation. Please let us know if you can help coach the following programs:

  • Pee Wee Soccer (Saturday mornings only for 6- weeks)
  • Youth Rec Basketball (Saturday mornings only for 8-weeks)
  • Travel Basketball (Schedule TBD- season runs late November-March) **This program requires a bigger commitment
  • Biddy Basketball (Saturday mornings only for 6-weeks)
  • Granite State Track & Field (Mon/Weds 3:30-4:30 p.m. late May- June + Regional Meet in June)

Check out the Splash Pad located at Noble Pines Park!

ATTENTION: The Splash Pad is now open for the 2018 season! Please review the rules below before attending. We hope you enjoy your summer!

Come beat the summer heat with Somersworth’s very own Splash Pad! The Splash Pad is open daily from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, weather permitting. Please note we don’t offer private rentals at this park.


Please be sure to check out the splash pad rules prior to visiting:  

  • Splash Pad park hours are 10 am.- 7 pm. daily. The Splash Pad may be closed at anytime due to maintenance or other concerns.
  • Footwear/sandals are strongly recommended. NO athletic cleats on the Splash Pad.
  • NO food or beverages, glass containers, or breakable objects are allowed on the Splash pad.
  • NO skateboards, roller blades, bicycles, scooters, or any other type of wheeled vehicle (with the exception of wheelchairs or assistive devices) are allowed on the Splash Pad.
  • NO pets are allowed on the Splash Pad.
  • In the event of an emergency, call 911. The Splash Pad is located at 45 Grand Street.


 Looking for a private park rental for a function or party?!

Millenium Park is available for private one-day or two-day rentals on weekends from April to October. The park offers a softball field with lights, 2 horseshoe pits, 2 volleyball courts, electricity, bathroom facilities, 2 barbecue grills, a covered pavilion with 8 picnic tables, a small playground structure with a swing set, and a large parking lot.
