Library Databases

General Information

The library has 3 databases available for your use to research topics, find books, and one of them provides anywhere online access to newspapers and magazines. If you need assistance with their use, just call 692-4587 or stop by for a brief demonstration.

New Hampshire Union Public Access Catalog The online catalog contains the holdings of all the public, college and university libraries, as well as many of the high schools, in the state. The majority of the books and other items available at the Somersworth Public Library are in this catalog. Use it to look up if we own a book that you want, or to see if it is available at another library. The library can borrow books from other libraries for you through interlibrary loan service and can often get it delivered within a week. Interlibrary loan requests may be done directly over the phone during our regular hours. No password required.

NoveList helps to answer the question “What should I read next?” Use it to find new fiction books based on books you’ve already read or on topics in which you’re interested. If you are new to NoveList you may want to take advantage of “Step-by-Step NoveList Training”, which can be accessed from a link on the left side of the main page. It is located at the same site as EBSCOHost.
