Mast Point Dam Revitalization Project

The City is pleased to announce the completion of the Mast Point Dam Revitalization Project in December 2016. The City was awarded a Land & Water Conservation Fund Grant in 2014 to revitalize this hidden gem in Somersworth. Mast Point Dam Recreation Area is now home to an expansive trail system abutting the Salmon Falls River that offers beautiful views and new recreation opportunities. New improvements include a hand-carry boat launch, a kayak/canoe rack, 2 picnic areas, a footbridge for access across the creek, and improved parking. As part of the project the City also installed an entrance sign along with trail signage, parking signs, and a message center displaying the park trail map.

City staff met with DRED on Thursday, January 26th for our final project inspection. We are eager to see our community take advantage of this beautiful park and look forward to seeing you out on the trails and the river! Stay tuned as we plan to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony later this spring.
