National Night Out

Hosted by Somersworth Prevention Coalition & Somersworth Police Department
When: Tuesday, August 1st, 5:30-7:30pm
Where: Jules Bisson Park, Somersworth, NH

Together the Somersworth Prevention Coalition and Somersworth Police Department will be taking part in a nationwide effort to build community relationships, enhance access to resources, and create neighborhood camaraderie by participating in National Night Out. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community in hopes of making our community a safer and more caring place to live.

The event will be held on Tuesday, August 1st at Jules Bisson Park in Somersworth from 5:30-7:30. This year there will be free hot dogs, burgers, drinks, snacks, raffles and prizes, t-shirts (while they last!). There will also be plenty of entertainment and fun hosted by our city’s police, fire, and recreation departments, along with DJ Mike Pomp and Sole City Dance. Accompanying our hosts will be a number of local organizations that will add to the evening’s activities; these organizations will also be providing resources, information, and enhancing access to services.

The Somersworth Prevention Coalition is a volunteer group of community members who bring their varied backgrounds, specialties, and skills together to effectively collaborate in an effort to prevent and help reduce substance misuse in the Somersworth community. The coalition is largely funded through a federal Drug Free Communities Grant through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA), and is also funded in-part through donations and in-kind services. However, the work of the Coalition is never complete without the dedication of its valuable community volunteers. If you or someone you know is interested in being part of this effort, contact for more information!
