City of Somersworth Prepares for Streets to be repaved:

The City of Somersworth Department of Public Works and Utilities will begin re-paving work starting on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Work is scheduled between October 10th and October 25th, with work crews operating from 7am-5pm on typical days dependent on weather.  The City has contracted with Pike Industries for repaving the following streets:

-Blackwater Road –From Rte 108 to High Street
-Maple Street –From Blackwater Road to Linden Street
-Green Street –From Franklin Street to Washington Street
-Rocky Hill Road-From Otis Road to Winter Street
-Hillside Street
-Winter Street-From Rocky Hill Road to Market Street

During milling and paving work, travel lanes will be restricted to a single lane of traffic with safety flaggers and traffic signs in place to guide motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists.

Work will initially involve milling off old pavement on most of the roads or adding new asphalt pavement to improve the ride-ability of these streets. In addition, motorists are asked to be alert to road construction ahead signs, prepare for some additional commute times during construction, and/or consider alternative routes.

Look for schedule updates on the City’s website as conditions may require changes to the schedule.

NEW INFORMATION – DELAYS ON MAPLE STREET AND GREEN STREET

The City of Somersworth announces a temporary road delays on Maple Street from Blackwater Road to Linden Street, to accommodate street paving work scheduled for Wednesday, October 18, and Thursday, October 19. Work activities is anticipated to be from 7am-5pm on both days.  Parking will be prohibited along the Maple Street during paving operations. Seek alternative routes.

The City also alerts the public that NHDOT will be paving Green Street from Oak Street in Dover to Indigo Hill Road in Somersworth. Work is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 18, and will continue through Thursday October 19. Paving work is anticipated to occur generally from 7am-5pm on both days.

The City of Somersworth announces a temporary road closure for Green Street from Franklin Street to Washington Street to accommodate paving preparation work for Tuesday, October 17, from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm.  Pike Industries will be using a milling machine to remove the top layer of pavement to prepare for new asphalt surface on this segment of Green Street.  Parking is prohibited along this portion of Green Street, as well. Seek alternative routes and/or detour around this closure from Franklin Street to Main Street, or along the High Street corridor, or from Washington Street to either Main Street or High Street.
