Community Information
Incorporated as a Town in 1754 and later as a City in 1893 this historic City has grown to over 11,000 residents spread across 10 square miles of land and water. The Salmon Falls River, once an integral part of the mill district, now serves as the picturesque backdrop for the revitalized mills which now house both commercial and residential tenants.

Education
The public school system is comprised of the High School and Career Technical Center, a robust middle school and three elementary schools. Idlehurst Elementary, the newest school in the City, is one of the “greenest” schools in the State of NH, boasting state of the art facilities. The High School Career Technical Center offers students a state of the art media school, engineering, culinary, biotech, the building trades, medical studies, the arts, internships and more. New Hampshire students average 24.2 on the ACT test (U.S. average is 20.9) and our students scored an average 1567 on the SAT’s (U.S. average is 1498). Source: The College Board 2013.
Healthcare
New Hampshire is highly regarded for our quality of health care services. From general practitioners to specialists, Somersworth residents can find just about every service they need along Route 108, our “medical mile.” Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and Frisbie Memorial Hospital are located within minutes of the City. The renowned Boston medical community is also easily accessible.

The Oaks is tucked away from the bustle of the City yet still easily accessible. The Works Family Health and Fitness Center is an 80,000 square foot facility that has something for all interests and ages. Visit Noble Pines Park to take the kids to the playground or splash pad or to spend some quality time with friends, family or a good book. Fishing, boating and plenty of fresh air can be found at both Willand Pond and Mast Point Dam. Somersworth City parks are beautiful and easily accessable to the whole family.
