Somersworth’s Veterans Memorial
On June 4, 2018, Mayor Dana S. Hilliard announced the formation of the Veterans Park Commission to re-design Stein Park Veterans Memorial so that it may become a living tribute to all the brave men and women who answered the call of defending this great nation. With the support of the Somersworth City Council, the Veterans Park Commission led the way in designing a Memorial appropriate to commemorate and recognize our Veteran’s for their contributions to the protection of our nation, its citizens, and our cherished freedoms. However, at an estimated cost of $170,000, the commission recognized the City could not complete it alone and began a fundraising campaign by calling on businesses and citizens in and around the community to make it a reality. To date, a number of businesses have stepped forward to support this Memorial with their generous donation.

The Somersworth City Council demonstrated their commitment to the development of this living tribute by adopting a Resolution pledging their support and intent to move expeditiously toward the completion of this lasting Memorial. The City is planning a ground breaking ceremony on Memorial Day 2020, and a grand opening and dedication ceremony on Veterans Day 2020.
This would not be possible without the generous donations from the businesses listed above. We are still receiving pledges, and will update this page as additional donations come in. If you are interested in donating toward this worthy project, please call 603-692-9503. Thank you!
