Mental Health Services

Rapid Response

The following information is provided to guide family and friends through the process of getting their loved ones help who are suffering from serious mental health issues that could endanger their life or the life of another.

Note: The Complaint and Prayer application must be based on mental health complaints. It is not to be used for substance abuse based complaints.

Community Partners mental health professionals are no longer hospital-based. They don’t have contracts with the hospitals anymore and are now the "Mobile Crisis Response Team" that is managed by Beacon Health Options. There is an informational flyer online that is available for printing: https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/dcbcs/bbh/documents/rrbeaconflyer.pdf

To get in touch with the Rapid Response Team, the public should contact the New Hampshire Rapid Response Access Point by calling or texting (833) 710-6477 or go to their website at www.NH988.com. They can be contacted 24/7 and an Emergency Services Counselor will triage the initial call to see if it can be deescalated over the phone. If not, they will send out a clinical mental health counselor to speak with the caller in person.

They can also go to the NH Community Behavioral Health Association website at https://nhcbha.org/
or
they can go to the Community Partners website at https://communitypartnersnh.org/

If they want to go to the Community Partners in person to speak with them about the Complaint and Prayer process they can go to the Rochester Behavioral Health & Community Office at 25 Old Dover Road in Rochester.  They are open Tuesday through Friday.

Information about Involuntary Emergency Admissions is available on the NH Department of Health and Human Services Website at https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/dcbcs/nhh/eligibility.htm (the IEA Petition Form and the Complaint and Prayer form can both be downloaded from that web page.) The completed Complaint and Prayer form would need to be witnessed and signed by a Justice of the Peace (not a Notary). There is a list of people or businesses that provide virtual/remote JP services. This is on the NH Department of State website: https://sos.nh.gov/administration/administration/electronic-and-remote-notarization/technology-providers/

You can also seek resources through the National Alliance on Mental Illness or NAMI: National Alliance on Mental Illness
