New Hampshire is one of the few places that does not have a sales or income tax, a draw for both businesses and residents. In New Hampshire the emphasis is less about what we give you to come here, but more about what we don’t take from you once you are here.

In addition, Somersworth has several industrial areas and land available for development of additional Commercial and Industrial space. Businesses such as Velcro, General Linen, and ContiTech Thermopol have made their home in Somersworth.

The City has a bustling retail district, as well, that includes both independent and national retailers including Target, Walmart, and Home Depot, among others.

Business Districts

The City of Somersworth has four major business districts. The Commercial-Industrial District on the Route 108 Corridor sees over 13,000 cars a day. The Residential-Commercial and Residential-Office on High Street see 21,000 cars a day. And there is a Business Zone in Downtown Somersworth.

In addition, Somersworth has three industrial parks, and land for development of additional Commercial and Industrial space.
