Temporary Lane Closure – Salmon Falls Road – June 21, 2018

On June 21, 2018 (Thursday) beginning at 9:00 AM, the City of Somersworth will be conducting a combined hazardous material spill exercise with our partners in the State of Maine along the Salmon Falls River. The purpose of the drill is to test the skills of our first responders, public works and water department personnel and several other State agencies in the event of an accidental spill of hazardous materials into our drinking supply.

The evening before and the day of the exercise the Mast Point Dam Recreational Facility will be closed. The closure will run from Wednesday June 20 at 2:30pm to Thursday June 21 at 4pm. Also, during the exercise a portion of the Salmon Falls Road near the Mast Point Dam Recreational Facility will be shut down to one lane of travel.  Officers will be on hand to direct traffic and ensure the safety of the participating agencies and area residents.

If you are a resident of the Salmon Falls Road in Somersworth and have any special inquiries about the exercise please feel free to contact Lieutenant Matthew Duval of the Somersworth Police Department at (603)692-3131 or emailing him at mduval@somersworth.com.
